Our Counselors
Ami Evans
MA., LPC-Supervisor, Owner
I'm a proud Texas girl, a wife to my best friend of 16 years, and a stepmom to 2 adult sons. When I'm not working, I love being in the country where we recently moved, surrounded by nature, relaxing and snuggling with my puppy 'Kitty' and spending time with family. I like to travel and getaway to the mountains at least once a year.

Our "attachment" to others is how we love, connect and relate to each other. I want to help people with attachment issues that lead to relationship conflict and insecurities, adjustment after divorce, preparation for marriage, remarriage and stepfamily challenges, parenting stages and transitions. I want to connect with you where you are in life, and offer truth and strategies that improves perception of self and relationships. I'm looking forward to beginning this journey with you.

I started the practice in 2012 to provide a place for guidance and hope for people and relationships. Our team has unique strengths and specializations to be able to meet the needs of the people we have the privilege to serve. Our purpose is help you rediscover your authentic self, renew your perspective, and restore your relationships.

I decided to pursue a career in counseling after doing church ministry for 11 years. I loved working in the church but my heart was being pulled to work with individuals outside of the church. Another reason why I began counseling was due to a lack of Asian American counselors available. Therefore, I want to provide mental health care in the Asian American community. I greatly benefited from counseling in my personal life and would love to provide the same help to those in need.

My specialty is working with individuals, teens, and adults that deal with depression, anxiety, eating disorders and trauma. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which research has proven to give quicker results than other therapies. My goal in counseling is to provide a safe space for each individual where they can be their true self and find the help they need without feeling judged or criticized.
When I am not taking care of people, I enjoy taking care of my 11 pets (3 dogs and 8 Guinea pigs), building LEGOs, watching movies with my husband and being a volunteer at a local Guinea pig rescue.
